PTO meetings are open to all parents/guardians along with teacher representatives and principals. They are held at the NHES cafeteria on the second Tuesday of every month starting at 7 pm during the school year. The meetings are to discuss school events and how to help our learners have a wonderful learning experience at New Holland Elementary School.

The NHES PTO is a nonprofit organization committed to enhancing the community of New Holland Elementary students, staff, teachers, and families. The group is made of parents, guardians, and teachers volunteering their time to plan and organize fundraising, social, educational, and FUN events! Throughout the year the NHES PTO sponsors and coordinates events for the students and families such as Pops on the Playground, Book Fair Book Giveaway, Door Decorating Contest, Family Fun Nights, Mayfair, 5th Grade Promotion, Author Visits, Field Trips, and so much more! They are committed to supporting the New Holland Elementary Teachers and Staff's educational mission and well-being through appreciation meals and supportive collaboration on school organized events.

Meeting dates for the 2025-2026 school year are:

Intro Meeting on August 27th Wednesday (at conclusion of Back-To-School Night) at 7 pm in the cafeteria at New Holland elementary.

Second Tuesday meetings will be on September 9th, October 14th, November 11th, December 9th, January 13th, February 10th, March 10th, April 14th, and May 12th. May 12th will have the Board Organizational Meeting following the General Meeting.

Volunteering is a great way to be involved in the school community and to have fun with your student! Volunteer clearances are required for going on field trips, helping with events, etc.

NHES PTO Fundraisers

Grocery Outlet in New Holland- at checkout, give your cashier your NHES Give Back Card to scan and it donates 2% of your purchase to NHES PTO! New cards will be in your first day packet and they are good for TWO years to scan over and over again (open 2027).

Box Tops are completely digital- no more cutting and mailing! NHES PTO can still claim the 10 cents per box top, but it must be scanned through the app as follows:

Character Strong Monthly Trait

Each month their is a human trait we strive to exemplify as a citizen in the school building and the world around us. For the month of August, the focus was on Kindness (first two weeks of school).

For the month of September, the focus is on Respect. One way to think about Respect is “seeing value in all people and things & treating them with care.” Classrooms depending on the age level may be discussing a different form of respect whether listening, friendship, seeing another's viewpoint, or leadership.

This is discussed and reviewed in the class meeting time each day.

We are SOARING and striving towards our classroom and building attendance goals.

We have had 4 homerooms so far that have earned a reward for earning their attendance HAWKS (as of 9/3/2025):

How does the Attendance HAWKS Chart work?

There is a HAWKS chart posted outside of the classroom or by the doorway.
Classrooms get to place a Hawk mascot on the chart each day that their classroom meets the attendance goal for the day which is achieving at least 95% attendance.
A class reinforcement/reward opportunity is given once the classroom spells "Hawks!"
Then the classroom will remove the hawks and start the chart again.
A special shout-out is then given on the morning announcements during that week!

Why do we need School-Wide expectations?

School-Wide expectations are the behaviors that we need to see happening at New Holland Elementary. We believe these behaviors will encourage and aid our learners to be more successful in and outside of our school. Our expectations are brief, general, positively stated, and easily understood by all learners and staff. We strive here at New Holland Elementary School to reach the goal of each learner being able to explain that “being a Hawk” means to be responsible, respectful, and ready. The expectations should be used daily in our teaching, re-teaching, praising, and correcting of learner behavior.

What is the PBIS Behavior Matrix?

The PBIS Matrix is a chart that breaks down our School-Wide expectations into practical applications for everyday use. The matrix shows what behaviors are expected in all settings throughout New Holland Elementary School. Posters can be found displayed throughout the building as well as in our classrooms.

Why is the matrix important?

The matrix clearly defines our expectations so that we can consistently teach them to learners. When learners clearly understand what is expected of them, they will be more likely comply with those expectations.
