Positive Supports, Rewards, and More
What is a Hawk Ticket?
Hawk Tickets are an integral part of our school-wide reward system at New Holland Elementary School. Learners can earn Hawk Tickets by showing respect, responsibility, and readiness in all areas of the school, such as the classroom, hallway, and playground.
For example, a student might earn a Hawk Ticket for helping a classmate, being ready with a charged computer, following directions quickly, taking care of their classroom materials, or showing kindness without being asked. Click to see how learners can use Hawk Tickets to earn privileges or prizes.
-
- Learners place their hawk tickets in the bin in their classroom.
- Once a week, their teacher holds a drawing where the learners whose names are drawn can earn privileges or prizes in the classroom.
- Or the classroom teacher might have a means for the hawk tickets to be cashed into the classroom money system for a class store.
- The hawk tickets are utilized in a number of exciting ways for the learners as they show readiness, responsibility, and respect at school!
-
- After each weekly drawing, the teacher deposits the classroom tickets into a larger, school-wide bin located in the school main lobby.
- Once a month, there is a drawing where learner names are recognized on the daily announcements.
- Learners whose names are chosen can earn a privilege (ex: art apprentice, guest announcer, lunch with principals, etc) or prize from a large selection of items.
- There is also a monthly celebration for the whole school to participate in.
-
- At lunch, learners place their beige Hawk Tickets in the bin in the cafeteria.
- Once a week, the lunch monitors hold a drawing.
- Learners whose names are drawn earn a free ice cream coupon to be used in the cafeteria
-
- Bus (and van) Drivers have yellow Hawk Tickets to match our yellow buses.
- The drivers can give out Hawk Tickets to the learners that they can add to their classroom bin that then feeds into the school-wide earning opportunitites as well.
What is a Hawk Honors Tickets?
The Hawk Honors Tickets are a bit more rare & highlight a learner going above and beyond the expected 3Rs. Learners who receive a Hawk Honors Ticket will sign a celebrity book in the office, get a prize from playing Plink-O, and are placed on the bingo board for a chance to earn a book from the New Holland Elementary book vending machine! When the we get a bingo (full row horizontal or vertical) the learners get to use the book vending machine, and a nominating teacher also gets pulled for a prize. Check out some photos!

Student Recognition for 3R Recipients
- New Holland Elementary School holds a monthly Hawk Walk to recognize and celebrate learners who demonstrate the 3Rs: being responsible, being respectful and being ready.
- To make this a special celebration, we will line the hallways and cheer on participants as they parade through the school.
- Learners participating in the parade will have their names read aloud during the morning announcements as they walk through the hallways. They will also receive special "Hawk Swag" to wear or use during the parade and a certificate recognizing their hard work and commitment to the 3Rs.
